Oral Lesions —For some patients, this is a recurring problem. If dealt with before they erupt, it will shorten their duration. Therefore, immediate treatment is recommended.
Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMJ) — Your mouth opens and closes via the temporomandibular joints. Pain occurs if these joints are injured or damaged. Immediate treatment is recommended to avoid further injury or damage to TMJ. Various levels of treatment are available, depending on the severity of the disorder.
Gum Disease and Tooth Decay — Bacterial infection of the gums cause tissue irritation, infection, gum recession, exposed roots, and pain where the roots of teeth are exposed to hot, cold, spicy or acidic foods and drinks. Infected teeth are almost always painful and should be dealt with immediately.
Oral Cysts and Cancers — Both cysts and tumors dislodge the tissues surrounding them. While it is possible for both to occur without pain, it's always best to have them checked by your dentist to avoid further complications.
Impacted Teeth — Wisdom teeth often fail to erupt properly. With regular dental exams, it is possible to catch this problem before it occurs. Early removal of impacted teeth prevents damage to neighboring teeth and gums.
