Top 5 Worst Halloween Candies for Your Teeth

1. Chewy candies including gummy candies and taffy

These are among the worst offenders because they stick around in your mouth, giving them additional time to cause cavities. Not to mention some are sticky and strong enough to pull out a filling, bridge, or braces.

2. Caramels

Caramels are another sticky offender because they stick to teeth—not to mention expensive dental appliances like orthodontics.

3. Sour and citrus-flavored candies

Sour and citrus-flavored candies contain both sugar and acid which cause cavities. 

4. Hard candies 

Hard candies, suckers, and lollipops not only can cause tooth breakage caused by unconscious chewing but also linger longer, causing more acid to build up in the mouth decaying your teeth faster.  

5. Creamy Chocolates 

Creamy Chocolates are not good for teeth but because they don't linger on the teeth for very long, they do not pose as much of a risk for tooth decay as other Halloween candy options.
